Cabo del Sol – Cove Club
Occupying what course designer Jack Nicklaus once described as “the best golf property I’ve ever seen,” the Ocean Course at Cabo del Sol, opened to acclaim in 1994 and rebranded as the members-only Cove Club in 2019, features several new holes, upgraded playing surfaces, remodeled bunkers and colorful new landscaping.
Centerpiece of a 1,800-acre master-planned resort community, the Cove Club sprawls across a stunning desert landscape touched by the Sea of Cortes. Intent on producing the “Pebble Beach of the Baja,” Nicklaus routed holes across sloping land creased by broad sandy arroyos and framed by tall rugged mountains. Holes on both nines weave from craggy granite outcrops and golden beaches to steeper terrain set back from the sea. Like Pebble, the look is natural, unforced–earthworks were kept to a minimum.
Two new resort hotels, a Four Seasons and a Park Hyatt, are expected to debut at the Cove Club in 2022.
Course Highlights
- A new par-4 ninth hole, sturdy at 461 yards, mimics the original with its broad saddled fairway but has bigger, bolder fairway and greenside bunkering.
- The previous 16th hole, an epic par 4 that drops sharply down the side of a mountain, has been recast as the 18th hole. Its peninsula-style green, well-protected by bunkers, clings to a cliff and appears to float on the ocean.
- In addition to two on-course comfort stations, an Airstream trailer at the turn offers fresh-off-the-grill Mexican specialties and refreshments.
Golf Rates
Green fees range from $315 – $385, depending on season. Tee times are available from 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The club offers limited access to unescorted guests.
Guest fees include 18 holes of golf, shared cart, practice balls, bottled water and access to the club’s comfort stations.

Marek's Comments
“This brilliant layout, formerly the Ocean Course, was remodeled by Jack Nicklaus in 2019 but still provides one of the best tests of golf in Los Cabos.”
