Cabo Real Golf Club
Set within a 2,800-acre resort community with 3.2 miles of beachfront, Cabo Real, conveniently located in the center of the Tourist Corridor, opened in 1993. The reversal several years ago of the club’s nines dramatically improved the flow and enhanced the balance of an intriguing course designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr.
The front nine, remodeled by Jones from a pre-existing layout, provides a scenic test with broad fairways that spill down to the Sea of Cortes. Cabo Real’s longer back nine, marked by steeply pitched holes chiseled into rugged desert foothills, presents a very sturdy, target-style test. Free-form bunkers and elevated greens combine with ridgetop fairways to create a top-of-the-world feel nearly 500 feet above the Sea of Cortes. Jones’ artistry is evident throughout: green complexes and containment mounds mimic the shapes of the richly hued mountain peaks that backdrop the fairways.
- Uphill holes generally play downwind, downhill holes usually play into the prevailing breeze
- Front nine skirts Las Ventanas al Paraiso, a Rosewood Resort ranked among the best hotels in Los Cabos.
- Ocean views from every hole
- Golf Digest’s “Best Golf Courses in 206 Countries,” No. 15 in Mexico
Green fees range from $175 to $245, depending on season and time of day. Rates are inclusive of practice balls, shared golf cart and bottled water.
